The news is here at last – RiZE Festival will be replacing former V Festival at Hylands Park in Chelmsford, with Liam Gallagher and Stereophonics set to headline.
The event will take place in August, and the first wave of artists have been announced.
The line-up includes Rita Ora, Craig David, Manic Street Preachers and Bastille.
Also, on the line-up are Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, James Bay and Years & Years, with more acts set to be announced over the next few months.
The artists will perform across four different stages, although the site will be smaller than V Festival used to be.
The festival will be held on Friday, August 17 and Saturday, August 18 in Chelmsford.
Tickets will go on sale at 9.30am on Friday, March 2. They will be available to buy on the RiZE Festival website, and a number of ticket sites including See Tickets and Ticketmaster.
The organisers are clear that this is not ‘the new V Festival’ but a separate event with its own look and atmosphere. RiZE Festival is being hosted by the same two companies as V Festival, SJM Concerts and Festival Republic – but is a new event with a different vibe.
RiZE will only be happening at Hylands Park this year, and there is no news about the former V Festival twinned site in Staffordshire.
The capacity of RiZE is smaller than V Festival, and tickets are cheaper too. Alongside big acts, there will be a huge hub of street food, bars and rides.
Tickets will be priced at £59.50 plus booking fee per day, and £115 for the weekend.
Weekend camping tickets are £160 plus booking fee, or £165 if you add in camping for Thursday.
There will also be a batch of VIP tickets available, which will cost £109.50 plus booking fee for a day ticket, and £190 plus booking fee for a VIP weekend ticket.
